Dee Dee's creativity was endless. After he moved on from the Ramones, he continued writing songs. Some of them, such as this "Possum Turd," could have been hardcore masterpieces.

Dee Dee sure knew how to enjoy life. Here we see him with his wife Barbara at Arturo's opening of his show "Love, Life, Lust" in 1997.

Happy happy happy all the time

Dee Dee was never one to turn down a party. So when everybody went home after signing autographs at the release of We're Outta Here, he invited friends to the loft to celebrate. Here he is with Jerry Only, Arturo and other Misfits crew members.

The only thing Dee Dee loved more than writing songs was painting and drawing. Here he is working on a portrait of Arturo's dog Disel in 2000. Arturo and Dee Dee started collaborating on paintings in 1994. They continued to work until Dee Dee's last visit to New York City on May 3, 2002.

Dee Dee thought that Mr. Disel was a "Sunday kind of a dog." This painting is called "What Dogs Do on Sunday." The doggie is saying, "But nobody ever gets up on Sunday morning to take me to worship, etc."

At the loft, Dee Dee signs some Dee Dee dolls while Arturo puts the finishing touches on Mr. Disel. Dee Dee kept himself busy at all times, touring and writing (his last book Legend of a Rock Star is due to come out very soon). He came to New York very often.

Dee Dee and Jimmy Marino congratulate each other on Jimmy's acquisition of one of Dee Dee's first masterpieces, a dual portrait of Sid and Dee Dee.

Dee Dee's paintings were in many ways the visual equivalent of his songs: pure, unadulterated punk rage.

In 2001, Dee Dee made an appearance at the Virgin Megastore in Manhattan to autograph copies of his autobiographical book Lobotomy.

Need we say more?

Now I wanna be good boy ... I don't wanna be bad .. Now I wanna run away from home ... Now I wanna be on my own ...
